I only have the highest praise for this foundation. But I absolutely feel like the quality of it’s the finish justifies the price. Really and truly, the only downside I can see is that the foundation is pricey. I think this is a great wedding and bridal foundation, because it looks perfect in pictures, flash and no-flash. Or wear just one light layer and it really smooths the look of my skin.ģ | GLOW My skin has a glow with this foundation, without looking too dewy in the t-zone, which I have found very rare with dewier finish foundations! It’s radiant in all the right areas, but still dries down and sets and feels like wearing nothing.Ĥ | LONGEVITY I have worn this foundation for 12+ hours and it looks exactly the same at the end of the day, with only some slight fading around the corners of my nose.ĥ | PHOTO FRIENDLY The Armani Luminous Silk foundation is one of the most best looking foundations in photos (while still looking flawless in real life). I can layer this on without it ever looking heavy. I always get compliments when I wear this foundation on how nice “my skin” looks.Ģ | EVENS SKIN It covers every imperfection, yet still looks light and fresh. This is one of the few foundations I’ve found that has a match for fair skin tones with olive undertones. What they say: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. The have accurate matches for olive, peach, yellow, pink, neutral, golden, and red undertones. I’ve been mixing in a bit of their shade 2 (fair, peach) when I am more fair.Īrmani Luminous Silk does a really incredible job with their undertones. It’s hard to find a great peach undertone in a foundation and shade 4.25 is perfect! I do wish they’d come out with one level lower, a shade 3.25, for my super pale winter skin. There are 30 shades available and a range of undertones. It’s the best shade match I’ve ever found. Right? Right! The beauty business can certainly do better on the inclusivity front and I’m happy to see Armani Beauty is on the right path.I am shade 4.25, light with peach undertones, and it matches my skin perfectly. Hey, if Megan Markle is wearing Luminous Silk, we all want to wear it. Giorgio Armani 7.75 is described by the brand as 'Tan, neutral.' It is a shade in the Luminous Silk Liquid Foundation range, which is a liquid foundation with a luminous finish and light-medium coverage that retails for 64.00 and contains 1 oz. It’s really frustrating to know that there are superior formulations on the market but you can’t take advantage of all that goodness because there are no options for your skin tone. We recommend shade 7.75 for tan skin tones with neutral undertones. My shade is 9, tan to deep with a neutral undertone, but I’m excited to swatch the new shade 8.75, to see if that’s an even better fit. I’ll be sure to update as soon as I swatch the new one.Īlthough Giorgio Armani Beauty is not breaking any records with this shade extension, I do hope this move will inspire other prestige brands (looking at you YSL) to extend their ranges as well. Not exactly competing with the 40-Shades Phenomenon that is Fenty Beauty or Cover FX or Make Up For Ever but it is a step in the right direction.Įach of the new shades is in the medium to deep category and the line has extended to include shade #15, a match for beauty vlogger Nyma Tang of The Darkest Shade. Now Giorgio Armani is addressing some of its lack with the addition of six new shades, bringing their total to 31. A familiar story in the beauty world, but particularly true for prestige brands that tend to target, uh, lighter-skinned women. The only drawback for this cult-fave foundation has been its somewhat limited shade range. It lives up to its hype and is worth every nickel of its $64 retail price tag. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk is my all-time favorite foundation.
